SpecPrivacy Policy (Datenschutzerklärung)
This policy explains what personal data is processed when you visit specmatches.com and why. It covers this website only. Data processed inside the SpecMatches product is covered by the agreements we have with each customer.

2. Hosting
This website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (Cloudflare Workers). When you open a page, your browser sends technical data to Cloudflare's servers, including your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, your browser type and your operating system. Cloudflare needs this data to deliver the website and protect it against attacks.
Our home, pricing and contact pages, our legal notice and this privacy policy also exist in German. When you open one of them, our server checks the language preference your browser sends with every request and shows the German version if your browser prefers German. This preference is not stored.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is serving the website securely and reliably. We have a data processing agreement with Cloudflare. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which covers transfers of data to the USA (Art. 45 GDPR).
3. Contacting us by email or contact form
If you email us or use our contact form, for example to book a demo, we process your name, your email address, your company if you give it, and your message. Messages from the contact form are sent to our email inbox through Cloudflare's email service; the website itself doesn't store them. We use this data only to answer your request and any follow-up. We delete it once it is no longer needed, unless we are legally required to keep it for longer.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your request relates to a contract or steps before one, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is answering the enquiries we receive.
4. Login page
On the login page, the email address you enter is sent to our server, which looks up your company's workspace. We use it only for this lookup: it is not stored and not logged. Your browser is then forwarded to your company's own SpecMatches workspace, where you sign in through your organisation's Microsoft account. That sign-in is covered by the agreement between SpecMatches and your employer.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is directing you to your company's workspace.
5. Cookies and tracking
This website does not set cookies and does not use any analytics or tracking tools. All fonts and files are served from our own hosting. No content is loaded from third-party servers.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15)
- have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16)
- have your data deleted (Art. 17)
- restrict how your data is processed (Art. 18)
- receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20)
- object at any time to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21)

You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), in particular in the EU member state where you live or work, or where you believe a breach took place. The authority responsible for us is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (LDI NRW): www.ldi.nrw.de.
7. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our website or the law changes. The current version is always available on this page.
